A short game this time around. I played it on a whim because it was free, co-op, and promised to be at least somewhat of a fun time. It's Eronoctosis.
It's a two-player co-op horror game that's probably inspired by the old games like Slender. You have to collect a bunch of cauldrons, bring them back to a point, and not get caught by enemies that are chasing you all the while. I'm not entirely sure, but I think each next cauldron makes more enemies spawn. You can't really outrun these enemies, but instead have to work together to defeat them. One holds a flashlight that they must shine on the enemy, and the other holds a camera that must focus on the enemy before it can take a photo and destroy the enemy. While it sounds simple, the timings for these are quite tight, meaning splitting up or miscommunicating can quickly cause enemies to catch up to one player and end the run.
It's not very scary, and it is very short. It took 30 minutes to beat it across 4 attempts, so probably less than 10 minutes for a full run. At least, for the free version. The paid version has 3 more maps, and probably more enemy types, but I didn't play it.
That's about all I have to say. It's charming and well made for the low price of free, but I was hoping for something a bit more original. It's not bad, but there are better co-op and horror games out there, even for free, so I can't really recommend this.
